I am a unrepentant Patsy Cline fan. I adore a well written book of fiction. My favorites are J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Dickens, and Shakespeare. There are some modern books I like but they are semi-autobiographical works such as the story of Louie Zamperini in Laura Hillenbrand, Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption. For West Africa, my favorite book is The Tenth Parallel by Eliza Griswold. It is mesmerizing.
